Before CasinoRankr, I was active on Reddit as GolfAndGamble — account created September 2020, roughly five years of daily community work. I created r/chumbacasino in January 2021 and moderated it as sole mod for over four years as it grew past 22,000 members and 1 million monthly pageviews. I also moderated 25+ other sweepstakes and crypto casino subreddits, and operated a dedicated moderation-tooling account for Python/PRAW anti-spam work against the coordinated affiliate-link spam that targeted these communities daily.

Between April and July 2025, the communities I moderated were targeted by a coordinated affiliate-spam network — rapidly rotating spam domains, aged accounts repurposed for affiliate promotion, and bot-enabled member-inflation attacks adding thousands of fake accounts per subreddit per day. The same network tried to buy the communities outright, including a $25,000 offer on Telegram and a $7,000–$11,000 offer via Reddit chat; I did not respond to either. The operation was simultaneously publishing fake "reviews by @hkgambler" on unaffiliated affiliate sites; I filed a Help Center impersonation report in May 2025. Across May, June, and early July I documented the pattern across eight ModSupport threads naming specific subreddits being hit. Reddit admins acknowledged on July 7, 2025: "this is being looked into on our end."

On July 25, 2025, both my accounts were permanently suspended ("breaking reddit"). The exact fifteen subreddits I had specifically named in my July 1 report to Reddit were banned under Rule 2 that same day — while similarly-botted subreddits I had not named remained active. On August 20, 2025, Reddit then banned r/ChumbaCasino as "unmoderated" — after removing the sole moderator a month earlier. Three internal appeals and a GDPR access request produced only automated template responses.
