Fact-Checking Methodology

Plain-Language Summary

  • Official operator pages, terms, regulator records, and business records are the preferred starting points.
  • CasinoRankr does not run player sessions. Without a recorded test event, claims about account setup, payments, or withdrawals must be attributed to published sources rather than presented as first-hand.
  • When multiple relevant sources are available, the methodology compares them and records conflicts instead of treating one marketing page as conclusive.
  • Reader reports, source changes, and automated signals can trigger a recheck; update timing varies.

Our Commitment to Accuracy

Casino information can change quickly, and the evidence attached to individual pages varies. Our methodology prioritizes official terms, regulator records, business records, and clearly labeled community reports. When a material fact cannot be confirmed, the page should qualify it or leave it out.

This page describes the sources the methodology prioritizes, the review steps it calls for, and the ways readers can report changes after publication.

Our 5-Step Review Framework

1

Primary Source Research

The process starts with official sources that are relevant to the claim.

  • Operator websites, terms, and rules
  • Official regulator records when licensing is relevant
  • Business registries and corporate filings when ownership is relevant
  • Official company and provider announcements
2

Evidence Classification

Each claim should be labeled by what supports it. CasinoRankr does not currently run player sessions.

  • Distinguish operator-stated facts from community reports and editorial inference
  • Do not describe account, payment, or redemption activity as first-hand without a recorded test event
  • Flag claims that need fresh operator or regulatory confirmation
  • Record source gaps and conflicts instead of filling them with assumptions
3

Cross-Source Review

When more than one relevant source is available, the process compares them and records material conflicts.

  • Compare offer claims with current official terms
  • Check license claims against an official regulator register when one exists
  • Check ownership claims against business registries or corporate filings when available
  • Use official provider or operator materials for software-provider claims
4

Community Signals

Reader reports and vote patterns can identify issues to recheck. They are not independent verification.

  • Review submitted correction reports
  • Treat community experiences as anecdotal unless separately supported
  • Use vote patterns as early warning signals, not proof of operator quality
  • Link material corrections to the published corrections process
5

Editorial Review

The founder is responsible for reviewing the evidence and qualifications attached to a page. Completion must not be inferred from a database timestamp.

  • Check material factual claims against the sources available for that page
  • Keep operator-stated, community-reported, and first-hand evidence separate
  • Look for conflicts with current structured data and previously published facts
  • Use cautious wording or defer publication when material gaps remain

Source Types and Examples

The methodology prioritizes primary sources where they exist. These are examples of source types and organizations that may be consulted; listing one here does not prove that every review cites it or that every claim has been verified.

Regulatory Bodies

  • License verification for MGA-regulated casinos

  • Official public register for gambling businesses licensed by the Commission

  • Official online-gaming regulator and license register for Curaçao

  • State Gaming Commissions

US regulator and enforcement sources when they cover the product and claim at issue

Testing & Certification

Business Registries

  • Public company filings and ownership information

  • UK company registration verification

  • State Business Registries

    US state-level business registration records

Data Points We May Source-Review

Review coverage depends on the operator and the sources attached to that page. The list below describes data points the process may examine; it is not a claim that every review covers or independently verifies every item.

Bonus Information

  • Welcome bonus amounts and match percentages
  • Wagering requirements (playthrough)
  • Contribution rates by game type
  • Maximum bet limits during bonus play
  • Time limits for bonus completion
  • Redemption caps on bonus prizes

License & Security

  • Gaming license number and issuing authority
  • License validity dates and renewal status
  • SSL/TLS encryption implementation
  • Data protection compliance (GDPR, etc.)
  • Responsible gaming certifications

Payments & Payouts

  • Available deposit methods
  • Withdrawal processing times (operator-stated; we do not test withdrawals ourselves)
  • Minimum and maximum limits
  • Fee structures
  • Currency options

Company Information

  • Operating company legal name
  • Parent company and ownership
  • Headquarters location
  • Years in operation
  • Other brands operated

Post-Publication Rechecks

Published pages can become stale. Rechecks may be prompted by automated signals, source changes, editorial priorities, or reader reports; timing varies.

Automated Change Signals

Automated tools may flag possible changes in selected terms, offers, or licensing information. A flag is a prompt for review, not verification.

Review Cadence

CasinoRankr does not currently guarantee a fixed review cadence. Where present, source citations and qualified evidence labels show the support attached to a page; a database timestamp alone is not verification.

Community Reports

Reader reports can trigger a correction review. CasinoRankr does not promise a 24-hour investigation or resolution window.

Report an Inaccuracy

Found something that doesn't match reality? Submit the page URL, disputed claim, and supporting source so it can be reviewed. Response and resolution times vary.

What to Include:

  • URL of the page with incorrect information
  • What information is incorrect
  • The correct information (with source if possible)
  • How you discovered the discrepancy

See our Corrections Policy for how we handle reported errors. For ranking methodology, see how we rate. For press, citation formats, and the data API, see our press & citations page.
